Alex Pfaffenbach started bussing tables in bars and restaurants at the age of 15. It wasn’t until the age of 22 that he solidified his career in hospitality by opening a restaurant in Binghamton, NY with two friends, after graduation from college.
After two years in business, he sold his interest to a partner and moved to NYC to take a job with TriBeCa Grill in their management training program. After completing the program, Alex became the bar manager.
He joined the management team at NoMad in June, 2013. He was able to pursue one of his passions by running the beer program and expanding the beer list to over 150 selections. In the spring of 2015, Alex shifted gears to become a dining room manager at Eleven Madison Park, as part of the team that won the 2016 James Beard Award for Outstanding Service.
In the fall of 2016, Alex was thrilled to rejoin his NoMad family as the Assistant General Manager and was promoted to General Manager in June 2018.
