Wire hummingbird drawings, by the artist Eric Rhein, are displayed in flight down the public stairs connecting the first floor to the lower level. Eric is a native of New York's Hudson Valley and spent his childhood summers in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. This experience instilled in him a love of nature and mountain lore, both of which are ongoing influences on his work. Eric uses a variety of media throughout his body of work. Wire drawings, sculptures, constructions, and photography explore the delicate and powerful connections among humans, nature, and the spiritual world.
